Murphy Set to Play Pryor in Upcoming Bio Pic

IMBD has a report revealing that screen superstar Eddie Murphy has landed his dream role - portraying the late, great comedic icon Richard Pryor in a new bio film.

The Beverly Hills Cop actor has reportedly signed up to star in Richard Pryor: Is It Something I Said? - a project being put together by Dreamgirls director and 2009 Oscars producer Bill Condon.

Pryor's career highs and lows, including his well-publicisEd Battles with alcohol and drug addiction and his struggle with multiple sclerosis, will feature heavily in the project. The comedian, 65, died after suffering a heart attack in 2005. To read the full report click here.

Murphy ranks as the highest grossing film star in history, having a total of 37 films to date, his films grossing over $3.4 billion in the US alone, averaging $104 million per film. He was a regular cast member on Saturday Night Live from 1980 to 1984, and has worked as a stand-up comedian.
He has received Golden Globe Award nominations for best actor in a comedy or musical for his performances in Beverly Hills Cop, Beverly Hills Cop II, Beverly Hills Cop III, Trading Places, and The Nutty Professor. In 2007, he won the Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal of soul singer James "Thunder" Early in Dreamgirls, and received a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for the same role.
