Breaking new ground with award-winning scripted dramas for the digital age, WIGS (www.watchwigs.com and www.youtube.com/wigs) announced today that BLUE, starring Julia Stiles ("The Bourne Ultimatum") as the title character, will start production on a third season. BLUE follows a single mother trying to protect her son from the consequences of her secret career as an escort. The No. 1 scripted drama series on www.youtube.com with more than 26 million views, BLUE has increased its audience reach since becoming available on www.hulu.com in June.
In Season Three, BLUE finds herself getting a little too close to a client. Also, Blue's son, JOSH (Uriah Shelton, "The Glades"), keeps a life-changing secret of his own from his mother.
BLUE is written by WIGS co-creator Rodrigo Garcia ("Albert Nobbs," "In Treatment") and Karen Graci, and directed by Garcia. The first WIGS series to be greenlighted for a third season, BLUE will introduce Eric Stoltz ("Mask, "Pulp Fiction") as Stiles' love interest. Also, Stiles' real-life sister, Jane O'Hara ("Law & Order"), will make her debut as Blue's sister. Other new cast members include Daren Kagasoff ("The Secret Life of the American Teenager") and Alexz Johnson ("Instant Star"), as well as Laura Spencer ("The Lizzie Bennet Diaries" and "Vanessa" from the WIGS series JAN and VANESSA AND JAN). Shelton, Kathleen Quinlan ("Apollo 13"), Carla Gallo (BONES, "Men of a Certain Age") and James Morrison ("Revenge," "24") will reprise their roles from previous seasons.
