Monster Energy's Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone defeated Hawaiian Yancy Medeiros in the welterweight main event at UFC FIGHT NIGHT 126 inside the Frank Erwin Center in Austin, Texas.

Cerrone came in strong and ended a three-fight losing streak with a TKO win at the 4:58 mark of the first round over Medeiros. Cerrone (33-10) also made a little history with his 20th career UFC win, which ties him with Michael Bisping and Georges St. Pierre for the most wins in UFC. He is also tied for the most finishes in UFC history with 14 alongside Vitor Belfort and Anderson Silva. On the other hand, the loss for Medeiros (15-5) ended his three-fight win streak.

Friends outside the octagon, Cerrone and Medeiros put their bond aside and threw down throughout an entertaining and violent, albeit brief bout, even exchanging a high five in-between punches. Medeiros landed clean strikes early on, but "Cowboy" eventually found his range and timing, firing back with sharp counter strikes the second half of the round. Once Cerrone settled in, he quickly ramped up his offense, landing a crisp counter right hand and then finishing with a straight right to the temple, followed up with a wicked shot that finished the fight with just two seconds remaining in the opening round.

"I didn't know there was only 10 seconds left in the round," said Cerrone. "I was just going for the finish."

Immediately after the fight, Medeiros jumped over the cage to hug Cerrone's grandmother, who regularly attends Cerrone's fights. This was a critical victory for Cerrone who broke the longest losing streak of his career.

When asked what's next for Cerrone, who could possibly return to the lightweight division and is always ready to fight, he said, "They call me and I say, where are we going? That is all I need to know."

Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone, is amongst Monster Energy's elite UFC team along with Conor "The Notorious" McGregor, Daniel Cormier, Dominick "Dominator" Cruz, Chris 'The All American' Weidman, Tyron "The Chosen One" Woodley, Paige VanZant, Cain Velasquez, Yair Rodriquez and Max 'Blessed' Holloway.
