According to Deadline, Molly Shannon has signed on to star in Brian Gallivan's untitled single-camera ABC comedy pilot.
The project "centers on an overworked father dreaming of being "on vacation all year" who decides to uproot his family from the city and move them to New Hampshire where they open a group of tourist cottages but rarely, if ever, feel like they're on vacation. SNL alumna Shannon will play his deadpan wife Cathleen who is an exhausted but loving mother."
Shannon was nominated for a 2013 Emmy for her recurring role in HBO's Enlightened, and wrapped a stint on ABC's freshman comedy Super Fun Night alongside Rebel Wilson. Other TV credits include Hannibal, The Middle, Happily Divorced, Web Therapy, Up All Night, Neighbors from Hell, GLEE, Kath & Kim, Pushing Daisies, American Dad!, 30 Rock, Cracking Up, Will & Grace, Sex and the City, In Living Color and more. Shannon also appeared on Broadway in Promises, Promises in 2010. Her next big-screen projects are Life After Beth and Larry Gaye: Renegade Male Flight Attendant.
