Deadline reports that a modernized version of the 1970's series LOVE AMERICAN STYLE is currently in development at CBS.
Written by Jana Sinyor and Aaron Martin will center on "the lives of four couples who are connected through the many stages of love and their complicated relationships."The comedic television anthology was produced by Paramount Television and originally aired between 1969 and 1974. For the 1971 and 1972 seasons it was a part of an ABC Friday prime-time lineup that also included The Brady Bunch, The Partridge Family, Room 222, and The Odd Couple.
In 1999, another attempt to revive the series, with Melissa Joan Hart in the starring role, failed to go to series.
