TVGuide.com reports that Olympic athlete Misty May-Treanor is vying for a second opportunity to compete on ABC's DANCING WITH THE STARS when the show returns in the fall for a first-ever All-Star season. The beach vollyball star, who will be competing in this summer's London Olympics, has asked her Facebook fans to show their support for her return to the dancing competition.

"I would love to finish what I wasn't able to when I was on the show the last time," she posted on Facebook.  May-Treanor and partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy were forced to withdraw from the show in 2008 after she tore her Achilles tendon in rehearsals. The 34-year-old believes that she deserves a shot at redemption.

The athlete already has 900 "likes" on her post, including one from fan Richard Griego who wrote, "Would love to see you back on Dancing With The Stars again. Good luck in all you do. Go Misty!!!"
