As first reported on TVGuide.com, country singer Miranda Lambert will be making her acting debut in an upcoming episode of NBC's LAW & ORDER: SVU.

According to the report, Lambert is set to guest star as an actress who accuses a reality show producer of sexual assault. Michael McKean, star of 'Laverne & Shirley', This Is Spinal Tap and Broadway's 'Superior Donuts', will portray the offending producer in the episode.

Lambert recently married country singer and star of NBC's 'The Voice', Blake Shelton. The singer won a Grammy award in 2011 as well as several CMA and Academy of Country Music awards. Lambert first appeared on TV in USA's 'Nashville Star'. She placed third in the reality singing competition. Her latest album, 'Four the Record' was released this past November.

NBC's LAW &  ORDER: SVU is a hard-hitting series which chronicles the life and crimes of the Special Victims Unit of the New York City Police Department, an elite squad of detectives who investigate sexually based crimes. Dedicated Detective Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay), a seasoned veteran of the unit who has seen it all, heads up the department with empathy and professionalism, all the while dealing with her difficult past – as a product of rape and a witness to her mother's grief, she can personally relate to each victim she tries to help.

The series airs Wednesdays at 10/9c on NBC. No air date has been announced for Lambert's guest starring episode.
