As first reported on TVLine.com, Mike Schur will reprise his role of Dwight Schrute's "oddball" cousin Mose in the upcoming 'Office' spin-off The Farm. Schur is the current showrunner of NBC's Parks & Recreation and the former executive producer of 'The Office.'
No details have been revealed as to what role Schur will play in the new sitcom, but he recently joked in an interview with TVLine that he hoped the pilot episode would center on his character's funeral. “That would be the best case scenario, I think. If Mose was in a horrible tractor accident, and he was chopped up into little pieces so that there was no way he could come back… I’d be really psyched.”
He went on to explain the reason he hoped for his character's quick demise was because, ”I don’t know how to act!" He continued, "[Former Office showrunner/current Farm helmer] Paul Lieberstein is mostly the driving force behind keeping Mose alive because he loves torturing me. There was one time where I had a whole real scene with Jim and Pam — it was the night they stayed at the Schrute B&B — and I served them breakfast and had like six lines… and I was completely unprofessional because I’m not a good actor and just laughed every time.”
As previously reported, the cast of the upcoming spin-off will include Schrute sister Fannie (played by Majandra Delfino), brother Jeb (Thomas Middleditch) and cousin Zeke (Matt Jones).
