Mikaela Shiffrin Makes Pyeongchang Debut While Shaun White Goes For Gold Tonight During NBC's Olympic Primetime Coverage  Image

Sochi slalom gold medalist Mikaela Shiffrin makes her highly anticipated PyeongChang debut as she looks to repeat her victory of four years ago in the slalom tonight, highlighting live primetime coverage at 8 p.m. ET on NBC. Shiffrin, the three-time reigning world champion, enters as the heavy favorite. The final run of women's slalom will air in "Primetime Plus" at 12:05 a.m. ET. Two-time U.S. champion pairs' duo Alexa Scimeca Knierim and Chris Knierim return to the ice competing in the pairs' short program during live primetime coverage.

Tonight's live primetime coverage also features the men's halfpipe final, as two-time Olympic gold medalist Shaun White continues his quest for redemption after posting the highest score in the qualifying runs. U.S. teammates and first-time Olympians Ben Ferguson, Jake Pates, and Chase Josey also could vie for podium spots.

"Primetime Plus" coverage showcases several short track races, including 18-year-old Maame Biney in the women's 500m, while J.R. Celski and John-Henry Krueger lead the U.S. in the men's 1000m.

Coverage on NBCSN continues at 7 p.m. ET by Liam McHugh and 2006 Olympic ice dance silver medalist Tanith White hosting Olympic Ice alongside analyst and 1984 Olympic FIGURE SKATING gold medalist Scott Hamilton. The hour-long studio show previews the day's Olympic FIGURE SKATING action while also providing viewers with analysis and highlights of the previous night's competition. The men's CURLING tournament gets underway, as 2006 Olympic bronze medalist John Shuster returns for his fourth Olympic appearance seeking redemption after disappointing showings in Vancouver and Sochi. Schuster's team, comprised of Tyler George, Matt Hamilton, and John Landsteiner, will face South Korea Wednesday at 12:30 a.m. ET on NBCSN.

CNBC's CURLING coverage continues at 5 p.m. ET, when Canada and Switzerland faceoff for the inaugural gold medal in mixed doubles curling.

Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA complements NBCUniversal's extensive coverage of the Winter Olympics, with wall-to-wall programming from the host city. WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 14

Wednesday's primetime coverage live across all time zones on NBC continues beginning at 8 p.m. ET, Mikaela Shiffrin is expected to contend for gold in women's giant slalom. The final run of women's giant slalom will air in "Primetime Plus" at 12:05 a.m. ET. In speed skating's 1000m gold medal final, Heather Bergsma, who won gold in this event at last season's World Single Distance Championships, and teammate Brittany Bowe, the 2015 world champion in this event, are expected to contend. NBCSN presents live coverage of the women's speed skating final Wednesday at 2:30 a.m. ET.

Primetime coverage also includes two-time U.S. champion pairs' duo Alexa Scimeca Knierim and Chris Knierim returning to the ice for the pairs' free skate, the men's downhill competition, and the first of two runs of the men's skeleton competition.

"Primetime Plus" coverage at 12:05 a.m. ET features men's snowboard cross. The U.S. is expected to be represented by Hagen Kearney, who had a breakout season in 2017, and Jonathan Cheever. Coverage will also include the second run of the men's skeleton competition.

Wednesday's daytime coverage at 3 p.m. ET on NBC includes men's doubles luge. The U.S. will be represented by Matt Mortensen and Jayson Terdiman. Coverage also includes the start of nordic combined competition, featuring American brothers Bryan and Taylor Fletcher.

Live coverage of Team USA hockey highlights NBCSN's coverage on Wednesday. First the U.S. men, led by 2006 Olympian Brian Gionta, open the Olympic tournament against Slovenia at 6:30 a.m. ET. Live coverage continues at 10 p.m. ET, two-time Olympic silver medalist Hilary Knight, captain Meghan Duggan, and 2017 world championship MVP Brianna DECKER lead the U.S. in the first showdown against rival Canada of the Olympic tournament. Team USA looks to avenge a 3-2 overtime loss to Canada at the 2014 Sochi Olympics.

Wednesday's coverage on NBCSN continues with biathlon's women's 15km individual event at 11 a.m. ET, as Susan Dunklee leads the U.S. in against a top international field led by Germany's Laura Dahlmeier, whose already won two gold medals at these Games, as well as the defending Olympic gold medalist in the event, Darya Domracheva of Belarus.

  • Figure Skating - Men's FIGURE SKATING begins with the short program, as 18-year-old Salt Lake City native Nathan Chen looks to confirm his status as a gold medal contender against a deep international field.
  • Alpine Skiing - Lake Placid native Andrew Weibrecht is an outside contender for a third-consecutive medal in the men's super-G.
  • Snowboarding - Women's snowboard cross gets underway. The U.S. will be represented by 2006 Olympic silver medalist Lindsey Jacobellis, who won her fifth world title in 2017. Skeleton - The final runs of men's skeleton feature reigning world champ Martins Dukurs of Latvia and South Korea's own Yun Sung-Bin, with Americans Matt Antoine (2014 bronze) and John Daly lead the Americans. Daly returns after heartbreak in Sochi, where he dropped from contention when his sled came out of the groove.
  • Freestyle Skiing - Women's aerials competition gets underway. The U.S. will be led by reigning world champion Ashley Caldwell and 2015 World Cup champion Kiley McKinnon.

  • Cross-Country Skiing - The U.S. enters PyeongChang seeking its first Olympic medal in a women's cross-country event, and a Jessie Diggins-led contingent could achieve that breakthrough in the 10km freestyle. Contenders also include Norwegian star Marit Bjorgen, who continues her quest to become to the most decorated Winter Olympian of all time.
  • Speed Skating - In speed skating, world record-holder Ted-Jan Bloemen of Canada challenges the Dutch duo of Sven Kramer and defending champion Jorrit Bergsma in the men's 10,000m.
