Michael Pena has been cast as Mr. Roarke in the upcoming Blumhouse film, "Fantasy Island," according to Variety.
The original 1977 "Fantasy Island" was a television series that ran for seven seasons starring Ricardo Montalban as the white-suited Mr. Roarke who oversaw a mysterious island where people could live out their fantasies - for a price.
The show was best known for Tattoo, Mr. Roarke's sidekick, who would ring a bell and shout "Ze plane! Ze plane!" to announce the arrival of a new set of guests at the start of each episode.
The film is bring co-financed by Sony and Blumhouse. Production begins on January 14th with Jeff Wadlow directing and co-writing the script with Chris Roach and Jillian Jacobs. The film will be produced by Jason Blum with Wadlow executive producing.
Pena is best known for starring in the "Ant-Man" films. He can be seen next in season four of "Narcos" on Netflix and in the Clint Eastwood film, "The Mule." He's currently filming"Dora the Explorer" for Paramount.
