Actor Michael Ealy is to join 'The Good Wife,' Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello reports.  Ealy will play Derrick Bond, head of a law firm that merges with the firm where lead character Alicia Florrick (Julianna Margulies) works.

Ausiello says that the casting breakdown states that Bond is a "casual, soft-spoken attorney whose egalitarian beliefs seem at odds with Will [Gardner (Josh Charles)] and Diane [Lockheart (Christine Baranski)]'s self-serving practices. However, under his pleasant and unassuming exterior, he has a steel-trap mind and can outmaneuver his most cunning adversaries and/or associates. Deeply impressed with Alicia's quiet competence, he becomes her newest mentor." Ealy will appear in ten or more episodes during 'The Good Wife's second season.

Michael Ealy's film credits include 'Kissing Jessica Stein,' 'Barbershop,' '2 Fast 2 Furious,' and 'Their Eyes Were Watching God.'

'The Good Wife' is a drama dealing with Alicia Florrick, who returns to her former job as a lawyer when her husband is jailed following a scandal. The show airs on CBS Tuesdays at 10/9c. For more information, visit http://www.cbs.com/primetime/the_good_wife/.
