Michael Bloom Named TBS & TNT SVP of Unscripted Series & Specials

TBS and TNT, divisions of Turner, have hired Michael Bloom as senior vice president of unscripted series and specials. In this position Bloom will lead and oversee the creative development and production of unscripted content across designated platforms for both the TBS and TNT brands. He officially joins TBS and TNT from IMG on June 20, and will report to the networks' chief Kevin Reilly.

Bloom brings over 25 years of television experience across several platforms and genres to TBS and TNT. Most recently, Bloom was instrumental in forging the architecture for ELeague, the new eSports co-venture between Turner and WME | IMG, which will premiere its first television competition tomorrow night on TBS.

"We have ambitions to inject some different thinking in the unscripted arena," said Kevin Reilly, president of TNT and TBS and chief creative officer of Turner Entertainment. "I've known and worked with Michael for years and I'm looking forward to what comes from having his tremendous energy and relationships aimed at that target."

Bloom was most recently senior vice president of IMG's Original Content group. Prior to IMG, Bloom served as executive development consultant for AMC, where he helped established the non-fiction programming department and AMC's first non-fiction series including The TALKING DEAD and Comic Book Men. In 2011 as SVP, original programming for Fox Sports Media Group, Bloom launched FOX SPORTS1 and grew Fox Sports Originals to 26 percent of their scheduled programming in '14/'15 with doc series, live events and talk shows. Bloom began is career in 1990 at MTV creating on-air and off-air marketing opportunities for advertisers including The MTV Beach House.
