Deadline reports that Melissa McCarthy will lend her voice to Dreamworks Animation's 'B.O.O. (Bureau Of Otherworldly Operations)'. The actress will join Seth Rogan on the film scheduled to be released June 5, 2015.
According to the report, "B.O.O. is a super secret government agency dedicated to protecting humans from evil hauntings. Agents are themselves ghosts. Two new agents, Jackson Moss (Rogen) and his oddball partner Watts (McCarthy) uncover a plot by the agency's Most Wanted Haunter to destroy B.O.O. They must use every trick in their arsenal to defeat his powerful ghost army and save Earth from a ghostly fate."
The idea for the film came from its director Tony Leondis. The screenplay was penned by Puss in Boots scribe Tom Wheeler.
McCarthy will soon be seen on the big screen in 'The Heat' along with co-star Sandra Bullock. She first gained recognition for her role as Sookie St. James on the television series Gilmore Girls, where she starred from 2000 to 2007. From 2007 to 2009, she portrayed Dena on the ABC sitcom Samantha Who?. McCarthy was then cast as Molly Flynn-Biggs on the CBSsitcom Mike & Molly, a role that earned her an Emmy Award win,[1] as well as another subsequent nomination. McCarthy was also nominated for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series for her work as host on Saturday Night Live.
McCarthy achieved major success and fame for her breakthrough role in the 2011 comedy hit Bridesmaids, which garnered her numerous award nominations including an Academy Award nomination, a BAFTA nomination and a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress.[2] She also appeared in the films The Nines, The Back-up Plan, and Life as We Know It, and her 2013 roles includeIdentity Thief, The Heat, and The Hangover Part III.
