People.com reports that DANCING WITH THE STARS contestant Melissa Gilbert has returned to the dance floor for a "gentle rehearsal" after taking a "dramatic drop" during this week's live performance. The actress was taken out of the ballroom on a stretcher Monday evening, just moments after she performed the paso doble with dance partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy. The actress, who only recently recovered from major back surgery, had reportedly hit the back of her head in the middle of the routine.
Explained dance pro Val Chemerkovskiy, "One of the tricks she did, she hit her head. But there was adrenaline, so she recovered and everything was good. She came upstairs [to the Dancing skybox, where she did her post-dance interview], she sat down, and then she started getting really dizzy. When there are concussion symptoms, you want to check that out right away."
After an absense on the results show where it was revealed that Gilbert had survived elimination and would compete for another week, the actress tweeted Wednesday, "Going to attempt a gentle rehearsal in a bit." Later in the day she assured fans that she was "very happy" to rejoin her partner on the dance floor but was ready to get "back home to bed."
