Melanie Griffin may soon be heading back to television.
According to Deadline, the actress, who's last regular role on the small screen was over a decade ago, has signed on for ABC's untitled comedy pilot from Imagine TV and 20th TV.
The project is based on Kip and Mona Lisa Harding's book THE BRAINY BUNCH.
It's described as: "Through a combination of genetics and dynamic home schooling, Kip and Mona Lisa Mitchell find themselves raising extraordinarily intelligent kids. Griffith will play Mona Lisa's mom Celeste, a former pageant queen who has graciously invited her daughter's family to live with her in Orange County."
Griffith received a Golden Globe Award and Oscar nomination in 1989 for her portrayal of Tess McGill in Working Girl, opposite Harrison Ford and Sigourney Weaver. She also received Golden Globe nominations for her roles in the movies RKO 281, Buffalo Girls, Something Wild, and Body Double.
