As first reported on TVGuide.com, actress Megan Dodds will appear on CBS's hit drama series CSI:NY in a five-episode storyline. The 'Detroit 1-8-7' star will be featured as a new love interest for Mac, played by award-winning actor Gary Sinise. The show's executive producer, Zach Reiter, revealed the casting news to TV Guide. Recently, viewers got a first glimpse at Mac's wife Claire who died in the September 11th attacks.
Shared Reiter, "Leading up to the end of the season — which may or may not be the end of the show — we explore Mac's romantic life a bit. We basically set that up in the premiere, having that moment where Mac releases the opera tickets into the ocean and symbolically says goodbye to Claire and that chapter of his life. We were hoping that he would be able to move on romantically. It would be a shame if a guy like him could not find love in his life."
Megan Dodd's character will appear as a woman who Mac was acquainted with many years ago. "... this is a woman all these years later who reaches out to reconnect, more or less to say, 'I read about what you did for the [Brooklyn Wall of Remembrance] and the survivors of 9/11," Reiter explained. "It snowballs from there."
Dodds film credits include 'Ever After: A Cinderella Story'. She has recently been seen on TV in House, Lie to Me, and the BBC's MI-5. No date has been set for her guest starring appearance on CSI: NY.
CSI: NY airs Fridays at 9/8c on the CBS network.
