Meet the Cast of COISA MAIS LINDA, New Netflix Brazilian Original Series Set in the 50s  Image

Netflix, the world's leading internet entertainment service, announced the main cast of Brazilian original series, Coisa Mais Linda. The seven episodes series commenced principal photography this week in Brazil.

Coisa Mais Linda stars Maria Casadevall (Os Dias Eram Assim, Mulheres Alteradas, I Love Paraisópolis) as Maria Luiza, a rich and dutiful woman who has always depended on her father and husband. After being left alone in Rio, against her better judgment -- and to the chagrin of her strict father -- Maria Luiza decides to stay in the city and dedicate herself to turning her husband's property into a Bossa NOVA club.

In this passion-driven transformation in Maria Luiza, she will be inspired by liberal and feminist new friends: Adélia, played by Pathy Dejesus (Rua Augusta, AVENIDA BRASIL and Caminhos do Coração); Lígia, lived by Fernanda Vasconcellos (3%, Haja Coração, Páginas da Vida) and Thereza, performed by Mel Lisboa (Os Dez Mandamentos, Prata da Casa, Presença de Anita).

Great talents such as Thaila Ayala, who brings life to Helô, Leandro Lima playing Chico, and &Icaute;caro Silva as Capitão, among others, complement the cast.

An original series produced by Beto Gauss and Francesco Civita's Prodigo Films for Netflix, Coisa Mais Linda will feature seven episodes in its first season. Created by Heather Roth and Giuliano Cedroni, written by Patricia Corso, Leo Moreira, and Luna Grimberg under the overall direction of Caito Ortiz, the series will be directed by himself, Hugo Prata and Julia Rezende.

About Coisa Mais Linda

Set in the late 1950s, Coisa Mais Linda follows Maria Luiza, a young rich paulistana (born in São Paulo city), who moves to Rio de Janeiro to open a restaurant with her husband. Upon arrival, she discovers he abandoned her and ran off with all the money. Desperate at first, Malu will recover herself and pursuit a new a dream in the midst of the city's vibration to the sound of the emerging Bossa Nova. In this endeavor, she will count on three incredible women: Lígia, her childhood friend who has a beautiful voice; Adélia, a black carioca (born in Rio de Janeiro) worker, with sheer determination and unshakeable strength, and Thereza, a modern and independent writer.
