Me-TV's GREEN SCREEN ADVENTURES to Celebrate Teacher Appreciation Month, May 2013

In honor of May's Teacher Appreciation Month, the Emmy Award-winning educational program Green Screen Adventures, broadcast nationally on Me-TV, invites Elementary school students to "Give Your Teacher A High-Five" to celebrate and acknowledge teachers all across the country. Five student submissions will be read on-air by one of the actors on Green Screen Adventures on the Saturday, May 25 and Sunday, May 26 on Me-TV. Plus, an honor roll of an additional 50 "High-Fives" will be featured in the show.

"Give Your Teacher A High-Five" submissions can be Made online at www.greenscreenadventures.tv beginning Tuesday, April 16 through Tuesday, May 14.

In 40 words or less, students should write why their teacher deserves a "High-Five." Photos and drawings can also be included in the entry but are not mandatory. Students from 2nd to 8th grade are encouraged to participate.

The nationally award-winning children's television show selects writing and illustrations by students and brings them to life. Its mission is to promote literacy, engaging as many children as possible. Since the March 2007 premiere of Green Screen Adventures, writings from more than 2,000 students have been featured in 350 episodes.

The website, www.greenscreenadventures.tv, provides creative, interactive tools for children to write stories and draw pictures on the site and easily submit their work toGreen Screen Adventures. The search engine and filter enable students to explore the site; watching videos, seeing behind-the-scenes photo galleries and reading other kids' work. They can even 'high five' stories as a way to compliment and recommend what they like. The website also provides teacher resources and writing prompts.
