The Wrap writes that Matthew McConaughey (Dallas Buyers Club) will be starring in Gus Van Sant's upcoming film SEA OF TREES.

From a script by Chris Sparling (Buried), SEA OF TREES also stars Ken Watanabe. The film follows an American man (McConaughey) who travels into the "Suicide Forest" near Mount Fuji to take his own life. But before he can finish the job, a Japanese man (Watanabe), who has had second thoughts about killing himself, runs into McConaughey's character on his way out of the forest.
McConaughey received his first Oscar nomination this year for his performance in Dallas Buyers Club, for which he also won a Golden Globe and a SAG Award. McConaughey will next be seen on the big screen in Interstellar. Other recent film credits include The Wolf of Wall Street, Magic Mike, Mud, The Paperboy and more. He has appeared on television in HBO's True Detective, as well as Eastbound & Down.
Watanabe's upcoming projects include Godzilla and Silence. His recent film credits include Unforgiven and Inception.
