Matt Damon to Star in THE GREAT WALL

Variety writes that Matt Damon will lead the cast of Legendary's THE GREAT WALL, directed by Yimou Zhang from a script by Tony Gilroy.

Joining Damon in the cast are Pedro Pascal and Willem Dafoe, as well as Chinese actors Andy Lau, Jing Tian, Zhang Hanyu, Eddie Peng, Lu Han, Lin Gengxin, Zheng Kai, Chen Xuedong, Huang Xuan and Wang Junkai. Yu Xintian and Liu Qiong will appear as supporting actresses.

THE GREAT WALL is reportedly the largest film ever to shoot solely in China for global distribution.

Damon's other upcoming film projects include THE MARTIAN and a sequel to the BOURNE movies. He recently appeared on the big screen in INTERSTELLAR, THE MONUMENTS MEN, THE ZERO THEOREM and ELYSIUM, as well as HBO's BEHIND THE CANDELABRA.

Pascal, best known for his roles in the TV series GAME OF THRONES, THE MENTALIST, GRACELAND, RED WIDOW and THE GOOD WIFE, will soon be seen in the Netflix original NARCOS.

Dafoe recently appeared in the movies JOHN WICK, PASOLINI, THE FAULT IN OUR STARS, BAD COUNTRY, THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL, A MOST WANTED MAN and more. He will soon be seen on the big screen in MY HINDU FRIEND.
