Matt Braunger's BIG, DUMB ANIMAL Debuts 2/6 on Comedy Central

Matt Braunger comes crashing through the woods in his return to Comedy Central in the world premiere of "Matt Braunger: Big, Dumb Animal" on Friday, February 6 at Midnight ET/PT. Braunger's second one-hour stand-up special, "Big, Dumb Animal," was filmed at The Bell House in Brooklyn. In front of a live audience, Braunger delves into why being 39 is lamer than being 40, the absurdity of a quiet Jagerbomb, why his hometown of Portland is too nice of a place, and what it is to be a big dumb ANIMAL with an anger problem. Also, how he got the nickname "Peaches."

Leading up to the on-air premiere, Comedy Central Stand-Up will feature preview clips from the special. Fans can follow Braunger on Twitter at@Braunger, and tweet using the hashtag #BigDumbAnimal to join the social chatter around the special.

"Matt Braunger: Big, Dumb Animal" will be available on February 7 in the Comedy Central App to fans that sign in via their cable or satellite provider. The Comedy Central app is available for free for iOS on the App Store, on Chromecast, for Android on the Google Play store, and for Xbox One.

Braunger's television credits include a recurring role on NBC's "Up All Night," a series regular role on "MADtv," and various roles on "The Tonight Show with CONAN O'Brien," "The Late Show with David Letterman," "United States of Tara," "Pushing Daisies," "Carpoolers," "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson," "Acceptable TV," and "Live At Gotham." He was also a regular guest on the "Chelsea Lately" roundtable. In 2009, he was named to Variety's Top 10 Comics to Watch and Comedy Central's Hot 9 in '09 list, and his debut album "Soak Up The Night" was released by Comedy Central Records and named to the iTunes REWIND Top 20 Albums of 2009. In 2012, his debut one-hour Comedy Central stand-up special and album entitled "Matt Braunger: Shovel Fighter" was released.

Along with touring comedy clubs across the country Braunger is also a regular at the Upright Citizens Brigade in Los Angeles. He has also performed at a variety of prestigious comedy festivals including the Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal and Chicago, The TBS Comedy Festival Las Vegas and South By Southwest. Braunger won the 2008 "Best Of The Fest" at the inaugural Rooftop Comedy Festival in Aspen and he co-founded the popular Bridgetown Comedy Festival that takes place annually in Portland. Braunger studied theatre in New York and improvisation in Chicago under such luminaries as Susan Messing and Del Close.
