Marsha Cooke, a CBS News journalist and executive with more than two decades of experience at the Network, has been named Vice President, News Services for CBS News it was announced today by CBS News President David Rhodes. Her appointment is effective immediately.
Cooke, who has been with CBS News since 1993, will lead Newspath, CBS News' satellite news gathering organization, which provides news and information to 200 CBS affiliates nationwide and to broadcasters around the world. Cooke replaces Kurt Davis, who in April 2016 was named Executive Vice President of Affiliate Relations for the CBS Television Network. "Newspath needs to be the most competitive affiliate newsfeed, maintain excellent client relationships, and look for digital opportunities wherever possible," said Rhodes. "Marsha's career as a manager from Beijing to the broadcast center-and her recent experience at CBSN-make her the ideal colleague to continue these priorities as an executive." Cooke is an Emmy-winning veteran journalist who has held several key positions throughout her tenure with the news division.
