Mariah Carey Reveals AMERICAN IDOL Was 'Worst Experience of My Life'

Mariah Carey stopped by Australian radio show Kyle and Jackie O this week and shared her reflections on her one season as a judge on FOX's AMERICAN IDOL.

When asked if she would consider a return to the show for its upcoming farewell season, Carey replied: "Hell no! Absolutely not. That was the worst experience of my life." Although she would not give details on her remarks, she hinted that producers were to blame for the negative experience, and also mentioned her heated relationship with co-judge Nicki Minaj.

"I'm not going to get into what it was, but let's just say I don't think they had any intentions for us to have a good experience doing that show," she said, adding, "Pitting two females against each other wasn't cool. It should have been about the contestants instead of about some non-existent feud that turned into even more ridiculousness. I would never want to be involved with it again. But everybody else did like it."

Carey and Minaj served as judges for one season, and were replaced by Jennifer Lopez and Harry Connick, Jr in 2014. The final season of AMERICAN IDOL will air on FOX in 2016.
