Mansa Productions will show its debut film at the 2018 American Black Film Festival (ABFF), in Miami on Saturday, June 16. The Atlanta-based production company was founded to develop and produce captivating film and television content, as well as create engaging and interactive entertainment events.

Kellon Akeem, the founder, president and CEO of Mansa Productions, shares, "This is an exciting time for Mansa Productions. Inclusion in the Emerging Director's Showcase at ABFF is a tremendous honor for our first film. We are just beginning our journey to becoming an influential player in the industry and look forward to sharing our upcoming slate of projects with the world."

ABFF is an annual event dedicated to showcasing quality film and television content by and about people of African descent. A Father's Love tells a teenage love story with an unusual twist. The film's cast includes Terayle Hill, Adriyan Rae, Tichina Arnold and E. Roger Mitchell.

Co-producer and co-writer of A Father's Love, Jessie Usher, has starred in projects such as Survivors Remorse, Independence Day 2, and Son of Shaft. The film was co-written by Allen Maldonado, who currently stars in Blackish and the new hit comedy series, The Last OG. Making his directorial debut is RonReaco Lee, who stars alongside Usher on Survivors Remorse.

Mack Wilbourne, a successful ATLANTA businessman, and NBA All-Star, Dwight Howard led the investment team behind Mansa Productions. The company's next project will be its first full-length film, Cross of Redemption. Actor Omar Epps wrote the script and co-produces this project along with Mansa. The film will star the rapper and actor Tip "T.I." Harris.

Mansa also has a television project with Harris in the works that chronicles the true to LIFE STORY of one of the biggest King Pins in the United States. The highly anticipated series, promises to bring a blend of grit, street struggles, drama and suspense to the small screen. Also in pre-development, is an unscripted daytime talk show that Usher will co-produce with Mansa.

The son of a pastor, Akeem was raised to be an active participant in the "family business" of outreach and mission work. This sparked an innate desire to build and uplift the communities around him, something that has now become the cornerstone of his filmmaking. The company's name is a Mandinkan word meaning "king," which is why the Logo includes a crown.
