Variety reports that a new installment of 2002's hit comedy MY BIG FAT GREEK WEDDING may be in the work at Universal Pictures. According to the report, 'Nanny McPhee' helmer Kirk Jones will direct.
Nia Vardalos will reprise her role and pen the script for the sequel which will focus on "the revelation of a family secret and an even bigger wedding brings the Portokalos family together again."
Rita Wilson and her husband Tom Hanks will once again produce the project along with Gary Goetzman. Executive producers are Paul Brooks, Scott Niemeyer, Steven Shareshian and Vardalos.
The original film, which also featured John Corbett and Andrea Martin, earned a whopping $368 million in worldwide grosses. Vardalos' script received an Oscar nomination.Videos
