A proposed MTV 'Jersey Shore' spinoff which would feature the show's Snook Polizzi and J-WOWW is not being permitted to film in Hoboken, NJ.
The network had approached the city's local government for permission to film, but according to the Jersey Journal, the city's mayor, Dawn Zimmer informed MTV that they need to look elsewhere for a location.
In a letter sent to MTV, the town commented, "Based on protecting public safety and quality of life concerns for Hoboken residents, the city has denied a film permit for a spin-off of the Jersey Shore to be filmed in public locations." The city has banned filming in public places after 11:00 pm, which is usually when the 'Jersey Shore' crew is just beginning their night time events.
In addition to the filming constraints, the letter went on to warn that fast action would be taken if the order was not followed to the letter. "Any attempts to film in a manner that is not permitted without a permit will be dealt with immediately and aggressively by the city of Hoboken."
