From Emmy-nominated producer Craig Wright ("Dirty Sexy Money," "Six Feet Under"), MTV's new scripted dramedy UNDEREMPLOYED follows a group a five friends - Sophia, Daphne, Lou, Raviva and Miles - who all believe they're destined for greatness as they graduate from college and enter the real world. But what happens when complete world domination doesn't go according to plan?
"Underemployed" picks up one year after pomp and circumstance, when reality has set in and the group struggles, often comically, to stay optimistic through dead end jobs, terrible bosses, romantic mistakes and major life changes. The series, which is currently in production in Chicago, will feature 12 hour-long episodes and is slated to launch in fall 2012.
Valedictorian of her college class, Sophia is holding on to her dreams to be a writer, as she serves of maple bacon bars at Donut Girl, while Daphne has been an unpaid intern for a year at advertising agency. Lou and Raviva ended their relationship for Lou to pursue his dreams of becoming an environmentalist and Raviva to become a famous singer, but a wrench is thrown in their plans when she shows up on his doorstop nine-months pregnant. Meanwhile, MiLes Wants to be the face of a major American designer's underwear campaign, but instead is serving up drinks and appetizers in his skivvies.
The series stars Michelle Ang as Sophia; Sarah Habel as Daphne; Jared Kusnitz as Lou; Inbar Lavi as Raviva; and Diego Boneta as Miles.
