MTV's male targeted youth network MTV2 announced today that the biggest, most heart-stopping extreme sports show is back, but this time we're taking it on the road! Premiering on Tuesday, March 27th at 11pm ET/PT, the next installment in the Nitro Circus franchise takes 17-time X Games medalist Travis Pastrana and his dream team of riders to the land down under for their biggest and baddest chapter in history in the all new documentary series NITRO CIRCUS LIVE.
Premiering with two back-to-back episodes, the new series showcases the Nitro Circus stars performing their brand of high-flying insanity and daredevil stunts, as well as all hilarious behind-the-scenes antics that occur when 40 crazy young performers travel to Australia and New Zealand for the first time. Between the drama, injuries and ridiculous action, viewers will see the Nitro crew do everything from camel racing and sheep shearing in the Australian outback, to jumping en masse out of an airplane. Along the way, the team meets some interesting and truly inspirational people including Aaron 'Wheelz' Fotheringham, the first wheelchair athlete to backflip his chair off the 60-foot high Gigant-A-Ramp, and X Games Gold medalist Cam Sinclair, who almost died performing the most dangerous trick in action sports, the double backflip, as he prepares to try it again for the first time on the Nitro tour.
"The whole experience of taking some of my best friends on tour, performing our Nitro Circus stunts in front of thousands of screaming fans, has been amazing," said Travis Pastrana. "I could never have dreamed that it would be this much fun!"
Joining Travis from around the globe will be: BMX Body Varial (aka 'Special Flip) stunt-artist and Travis' cousin Greg Powell (Annapolis, MD); hometown friend and world-class mountain biker Jim De Champ (Annapolis, MD); professional skier and base jumper Erik Roner (Marin, CA); Canadian motorcross champion and the first female to back-flip a motorcycle Jolene Van Vugt (London, Ontario, Canada); X Games FMX gold medalist Blake Williams (Baxter, Victoria, Australia); and X Games BMX Big Air bronze medalist Andy Buckworth (Lake Haven, Australia).
