Thursday nights on MTV will be filled with pranks, stunts, leaping and sprinting as two new extreme stunt reality series create humor and excitement. "The Dudesons in America" introduces the U.S. to four internationally well-known Finnish childhood best friends who take rough-housing to the next level with off the wall stunts and pranks. MTV's "Ultimate Parkour Challenge" brings live action to MTV with the world's fastest growing extreme sport that showcases the thrilling level of action experienced in Hollywood movies. "The Dudesons in America" and "Ultimate Parkour Challenge" will premiere on Thursday, May 6 starting at 10PM ET/PT.
The Dudesons in America (10PM ET/PT)
The Dudesons, four Finnish extreme stuntmen and pranksters, are totally lovable, yet totally lunatic friends from the Arctic Circle who want to live out their American dream - to do even stupider stunts and pranks than they did back home. In "The Dudesons in America," Jukka (the ringleader), Jarppi (the fat funny guy), HP (Mr. Sensitive), and Jarno (the filmmaker) want to take over America as they try to win over local townsfolk and whatever authorities they'll likely encounter while doing the dumbest things imaginable. In the spirit of the American West, the Nordic knuckleheads try to become cowboys by walking on stilts into a bullring with a very angry bull. And when they've conquered enough of what's on the ground of the U.S.A., they follow the American dream of space exploration; the Dudesons try to reach Uranus in their self-built space rocket.
On April 19, viewers can go to mtv.com to experience the show trailer, and learn more about the Dudesons through cast bios and photos. Beginning on May 6, fans will have unprecedented access to full episodes, sneak peaks, exclusive bonus stunts, point-of-view footage from stunts, and episodic photos at dudesons.mtv.com.
The Dudesons in America is executive produced by Jukka Hilden, Jarno Laasala, Jarppi Leppala and HP Parviainen for Rabbit Films; Johnny Knoxville and Jeff Tremaine for Dickhouse Entertainment; and Ross Breitenbach. Liz Gateley and Lauren Dolgen are the MTV executives in charge of production.
MTV's Ultimate Parkour Challenge (10:30PM ET/PT)
With cast members from around the world, MTV's "Ultimate Parkour Challenge" showcases the world's fastest growing extreme sport, parkour. In each episode, the series takes us live every week from locations around southern California including The Queen Mary, Venice Beach, Hollyridge Castle, and many others. Some of the best athletes in the world including Danny Ilabaca, Ryan Doyle, Oleg Vorslav, and Tim Schieff will challenge themselves and each other as they put their parkour skills to the test in different urban environments. Each episode ends in a thrilling live speed round; the winner of that round will then be awarded a prize. The essence of parkour is as simple as a game of chase. Athletes move as efficiently as possible from point A to point B. However, unlike a regular track and field race, parkour is performed in any and every environment. Athletes must jump, roll, climb, leap, sprint, flip and fly, flowing over walls, cars, stairs, railings, and 10-foot rooftop gaps between 5 story buildings.
Viewers can find exclusive cast photos, cast bios, and Parkour 101 video packages which will be an insider's guide into the world of Parkour on parkour.mtv.com. Parkour 101 will introduce the sport, explain the techniques used, and help viewers appreciate the art behind the sport.
Executive produced and created by Francis Lyons and Bob Kusbit of One Louder Productions. Executive produced by Kemp Curley of Transition Productions. Co-executive produced by Victor Bevine and David Thompson of the World Freerunning and Parkour Federation. Liz Gateley, Matthew Parillo and Amy Emmerich are the MTV executives in charge of production.
