The MTV Movie Awards' ratings dropped thirteen percent from last year, Reuters reported based on data released yesterday.  This year's show pulled in 4.6 million viewers; last year's had 5.3 million and was the most watched since 2004.

In addition, MTV has apologized for unmuted profane words which appeared in the broadcast, the Hollywood Reporter reported on Monday.  According to the Reporter, MTV made the following statement: "The MTV Movie Awards is a live televised event known for irreverent comedy and a party atmosphere where our guests speak more freely than they otherwise might. While we aired the live broadcast with a delay, we were unable to mute every word that some might find objectionable. All of these words will be muted in subsequent airings.  We sincerely apologize to those in our audience who were offended by any objectionable words that might have slipped by for the live airing."

The 2010 MTV Movie Awards were held at the Gibson Amphitheatre at Universal Studios on June 6, 2010 in Universal City, California.  'The Twilight Saga: New Moon' was the most succesful film, receiving four awards (Best Movie, Best Female Performance, Best Male Performance, and Best Kiss).  Other winners included Anna Kendrick, who won Best Breakout Star for her performance in 'Up in the Air,' and Tom Felton, who won Best Villain for his performance in 'Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.'  These awards are voted on by fans.
