MTV has pulled the plug on "The Hard Times of RJ Berger" after two seasons.

Co-creator Seth Grahame-Smith broke the news on his Twitter account this afternoon: "Well, it's official. #RJBerger has been cancelled. Thanks to the cast and crew for two amazing seasons, and to all the fans."

Fellow co-creator David Katzenberg expressed a similar sentiment on his feed: "R.I.P. #RJBerger Thank you to the fans and everyone involved in the show. What an incredible journey."

"Berger" averaged 963,000 viewers on Monday nights this past season, including a 0.4 rating among adults 18-49. Both numbers came in behind the short-lived "Skins" (1.395 million viewers, 0.6 adults 18-49 rating) and the recently-renewed "Teen Wolf" (1.656 million viewers, 0.6 adults 18-49 rating).

In 2010, "Berger's" freshman run - also on on Monday nights - delivered 992,000 viewers and a 0.4 rating among adults 18-49.
