MSNBC will premiere a new documentary, "The Politics of Power with Chris Hayes", Friday, August 16th at 8PM ET. Chris Hayes, host of MSNBC's "All In", partners with MSNBC's Long Form unit in producing a call to action on climate change. The documentary looks at how, almost a year after Superstorm Sandy, America and the world dangles on the precipice of future drastic weather and oceanic events resulting from our CO2 laden climate - and what needs to be done to prevent us going into the abyss.

The hour includes both documentary reporting and in-depth one-on-one interviews with some of the experts on the issue of climate change including: Michael Oppenheimer, former chief scientist for the Environmental Defense Fund and now a professor of Geosciences at Princeton; Steven Coll, winner of the Pulitzer Prize and author of a new book on ExxonMobil; Jigar Shah, a leading renewable energy entrepreneur; Carol Browner, who headed the EPA for President Clinton and was the former director on Climate Change Policy for President Obama; and Bill McKibben, head of 350.org, one of the leading organizations committed to stopping global warming.

"The Politics of Power with Chris Hayes" was produced by Peacock Productions in association with MSNBC. Betsy Wagner was the senior producer for Peacock Productions. Timothy Smith was the senior producer for MSNBC Long Form. Michael Rubin is MSNBC Long Form's Vice president and Scott Hooker is the Senior Executive Producer.
