MSNBC and executive producer LL COOL J are set to premiere "Story of Cool," a three-part docuseries. The first hour-long episode airs on Sunday, July 1 at 9 p.m. ET on MSNBC.
"Story of Cool" takes a look back at what Americans have considered "cool" throughout the decades and examines the people, places, and things that define this ubiquitous, amorphous word. Each episode explores a new element of "cool" - the RISE of prominent leaders, product advertisements, and how the battle for "cool" has the power to create rivalries and elevate cultural icons that shape the world. Over the course of the series, "Story of Cool" features interviews with special guests such as Ice Cube, James Corden, DMC, Kierna Mayo, Shepard Fairey, Maverick Carter, Malcolm Gladwell and more to help discern the origin of "cool."
The first episode, "Cool in Charge," airs Sunday, July 1 at 9 p.m. ET followed by "Cool for Sale" on Sunday, July 8 and "Cool Rivalries" on Sunday, July 15.
