MEET THE PRESS Wins Ratings For Week Ending April 25

According to Nielsen Media Research data, "Meet the Press" was top-rated Sunday morning public affairs program for the week ending April 25. "Meet the Press" attracted 3.181 million total viewers (2.3/7 HH), +20% more (+543,000) than second place CBS' 2.638 million total viewers (1.9/5 HH), a 28% advantage (+704,000) over ABC's 2.477 million total viewers (1.7/5 HH), and a 188% (2,076,000 million) lead over FOX's 1.105 million total viewers (0.8/2 HH). "Meet the Press" delivered an additional 841,000 viewers with rebroadcasts -- 314,000 viewers on the network and 527,000 viewers on MSNBC.
 
In Washington D.C., the NBC broadcast beat the competition combined with 135,000 viewers (4.7/14 HH), a +650% advantage over ABC's 18,000 (0.9/3 HH), a +214% lead over CBS's 43,000 (1.4/4 HH), and +335% more than FOX's 31,000 viewers (1.3/4). 
 
In homes nationally, the NBC broadcast topped the competition with a 2.3 rating and 7 share. CBS came in second with a 1.9/5, ABC in third with a 1.7/5 and FOX was last with 0.8/2.  "Meet the Press" has now placed first in households for 537 of the past 540 weeks (when everyone is at full coverage).
 
Among adults 25-54, the NBC Sunday morning show came in first with a 0.7 rating, ABC and CBS tied for second with 0.6 and FOX came in last with a 0.4. In rating A25-54, "Meet the Press" topped "This Week" and "Face The Nation" by +17% (+1 tenth) and FOX News Sunday by +75% (+3 tenths).
 
Week-to-week, "Meet the Press" increased its deliveries and widened its advantage over the competition in total viewers (delivery up +7%). The NBC program also increased the gap over its competitors in total viewers versus the same telecast last season and current season-to-date levels. Compared to its 2Q'10 to date average, "Meet the Press" was up +5% in homes and +6% in total viewers. 
 
Season-to-date, "Meet the Press" leads second-place "Face The Nation" by +18% in total viewers and +16% in A25-54 (000).
 
Last week's guests were the Chairman and Ranking Member of the Senate Banking Committee, Sen. Chris Dodd (D-CT) & Sen. Richard Shelby (R-AL). The roundtable featured The New York Times' David Brooks, CNBC's Erin Burnett, NPR's Michele Norris, and Newsweek's Evan Thomas.
 
On its digital platforms, "Meet the Press" generated more than 175,000 online video streams from April 25 through April 29, 2010.  The "Meet the Press" video podcast (available at www.mtp.msnbc.com) remains the top ranked network Sunday Morning program podcast on iTunes.
