MEET THE PRESS was the most-watched Sunday public affairs program in the key demo this past Sunday, according to Nielsen data, finishing its 18th straight month at #1 with the audience most valued by news advertisers. This past Sunday's broadcast featured an exclusive interview with former Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski as well as interviews with Health and Human Services Sec. Tom Price and Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine).
Delivering 882,000 A25-54 key demo viewers, MTP beat its competition by double-digits, delivering +13 percent (+100,000) more than ABC's "This Week" and +12 percent (+97,000) more than CBS' "Face the Nation. An average of 876,000 A25-54 viewers tuned into the broadcast this past month: +16 percent (+123,000) more than
ABC and +28 percent (+194,000) more than CBS.
3.072 million viewers tuned into MTP on Sunday, outperforming
ABC by 14 percent (+376,000). Just six percent (196,000) separated MTP from CBS, which continues to rate for only the first 30 minutes of its hour-long broadcast. In July, 2.980 million viewers tuned into MTP on average - seven percent more than
ABC and a 31 percent higher advantage over the network compared to this time last year. The broadcast also narrowed its gap over
CBS by 31 percent compared to July 2016.
The network broadcast continues as the #1 most-watched Sunday public affairs program season-to-date, leading its competition across the board with the biggest total viewer advantages in five years over
ABC and
CBS in total viewers.
MTP is delivering more audience growth than any other Sunday show: a three percent gain (+94,000) in total viewers and a seven percent gain (+75,000) in the key demo.
In the influential Washington, D.C. market, MTP continues to outperform its competition across the board, winning every Sunday in the market since March 22, 2015.
An additional 1.561 million total viewers and 345,000 A25-54 viewers watched MTP through rebroadcasts on MSNBC.
