Bookended by Nobel Prize ceremonies, "Marie Curie: The Courage of Knowledge" shows the life of Polish-born Curie in France between 1905 and 1911. The story delves into her complex relationship and her partnership in life and work with husband Pierre Curie (Berling), which takes an unexpected turn when Charles dies in an accident. Curie's scandalous affair with married mathematician Paul Langevin (Worthalter) adds further COMPLICATIONS to her life. Yet Curie's ultimate challenge in life remained her struggles to be accepted within the male-dominated field of science.
