Maria Bamford is in full swing as her new album "Ask Me About My New God!" is set to be released on Comedy Central Records today, July 16. The album is a brand-new audio performance of much of the material from her special, "Maria Bamford: the special special special!" which was named one of Vulture's Top 10 Stand-Up Specials of 2012 and which The New York Times praised as "compelling" and "as eccentric as her singularly funny comedy."

As one of the most revered comics in the industry, Bamford brings her distinct comedy style to her performance with a parade of voices and characters. She recites Paula Deen's recipes as a suicide note, speaks pretend Spanish, and shares many of her family's unique life perspectives. Tracks include "Gas Station Recipes," "Over 40 and Dating" and "Dark Dad." The CD version of the album also includes a bonus DVD of Bamford's two half hour episodes of "COMEDY CENTRAL Presents" from season eleven and season five of the series.

Bamford has been named one of Rolling Stone's 50 Funniest People and was most recently praised for her role on Netflix's "Arrested Development" reboot as "fantastic" (Entertainment Weekly) a "standout" (TIME) and "perhaps one of the high points of the entire new season" (Black Book Magazine). Her cult hit web series, "The Maria Bamford Show," has been displayed at the Museum of Art and Design in New York and was described as a "cold blast of brilliance" by The New Yorker. Her previous album, "Unwanted Thoughts Syndrome," was named one of the best comedy albums of the decade by The AV Club.

In addition to her two "COMEDY CENTRAL Presents" performances, Bamford starred in the Comedy Central series "The Comedians of Comedy" and Netflix's "Comedians of Comedy: The Movie." She has made multiple late-night appearances on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson," "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," as well as not-so-late appearances on COMEDY CENTRAL's "John Oliver's New York Stand-Up Show" and "Premium Blend," Bamford has guest-starred on FX's "Louie" and COMEDY CENTRAL's "The Sarah Silverman Program" and has recurring roles on the rebooted "Arrested Development" (Netflix), "Tim & Eric: Awesome Show" and "Check It Out" (both Adult Swim).

Bamford currently contributes comedic voiceovers for such animations as Cartoon Network's "Adventure Time," FX's "Unsupervised," Disney Channel's "Kick Buttowski," Nickelodeon's "Legend of Korra" and "Kung Fu Panda," PBS's Emmy-winning series "Word Girl" and the upcoming "Tight Bros" for Adult Swim. She was also a regular voice on Nickelodeon's "CatDog" and "Back at the Barnyard."

Bamford's writing has been featured in The Onion, The Melbourne Age, and LA Weekly. Her popular CDs include "The Burning Bridges Tour," "How to Win," and "Unwanted Thoughts Syndrome." She also created and starred in "The Maria Bamford Show," a unique 20 webisode series for Turner's Superdeluxe that has taken on a cult status afterlife on YouTube. She can currently be seen performing in her living room for her parents on the Chill.com direct-to-fans event, "Maria Bamford: the special special special!"

Previously released recordings by Comedy Central Records include: "Owen Benjamin: High Five Til It Hurts," AZIZ ANSARI's "Dangerously Delicious," "Jim Gaffigan's "Mr. Universe," George Lopez' "It's Not Me, It's You," Reggie Watts' "ALive At Central Park," Hannibal Buress' "Animal Furnace," John Mulaney's "New in Town," "Patton Oswalt's "Finest Hour," Lewis Black's "The Prophet," Louis C.K.'s "Hilarious," Bo Burnham's "WORDS, WORDS, WORDS," Mitch Hedberg's "Do You Believe in Gosh?," Dane Cook's platinum-selling "Harmful If Swallowed" and double-platinum "Retaliation," and the Grammy Award-winning "Lewis Black: The Carnegie Hall Performance," among others.
