After an astounding five years with the Broadway cast of Mamma Mia!, Collette Simmons is throwing caution to the wind with plans to travel the world as a multi-media travel host. During the process of training, researching and planning for a year of work and travel abroad, Simmons discovered a casting call for Paradise Hunter. Two months later she's among 40 semi-finalists vying for a job hosting Paradise Hunter's new syndicated travel television show. Simmons hopes to bring her versatile background and insatiable love of travel to the screen as she leads fans around the world on the hunt for their little piece of paradise.
Paradise Hunter (www.ParadiseHunter.com) is allowing its fans to choose the program's next host and voting in the semi-final round is quickly coming to an end. After December 15th, 10 contestants and their online audition videos will be chosen to advance to the final round and offered the opportunity to make their travel dreams become a reality.
For Simmons "travel means learning, understanding new cultures and growing through experience." Her love affair with travel began at an early age, flying alone as a six-year-old child aboard Delta to visit her father. "I still remember dressing up in my nicest clothes, shoes and little sweaters" she says, "and being treated wonderfully by the flight attendants." Simmons never stopped traveling. Since those early days, she's traveled across three continents and portions of the Caribbean, including extended road trips across Europe, scuba diving in the tropics and learning the Tango in Argentina. Everywhere she goes, Simmons focuses on learning new things and getting to know the people that make each destination culturally rich and unique.
Simmons, a native of Little Rock, Arkansas, is a professional dancer, singer, performer and voice-over artist currently living in New York City, but has performed across the US and Europe. In addition to more than five years with the Broadway cast of Mamma Mia!, some of her other performance credits include the European tour of Grease, After the Ball at the Irish Repertory Theater in New York and Where's Charley? at the Goodspeed Opera House. Her choreography credits include Broadway's Good Vibrations, Children and Art and workshops on the Johnny Cash musical Ring of Fire.
The public is encouraged to visit www.ParadiseHunter.com and cast a daily vote for who they think will be the next best host to guide them on a year long hunt for their personal paradise.
