Hey Stranger Friends, I hope you were able to follow-along for my live recapping and reviewing earlier, but if you missed it, the blow-by-blow is outlined below here. A Bahraini diplomat is caught holding his maid hostage in a locked closet in his spacious US home, and MADAM SECRETARY decides they must be prosecuted and diplomatic immunity denied. This could create a problem for a new US airbase overseas that it is imparative to have Bahrain's help with, so the Secretary is not only having to deal with the Joint Chief's at home, but the Prince of Bahrain turns out to be her old best friend in bording school, and needs to save face with his people at home.As always there is the family side to every episode, and they do not disappoint when Tom Skerritt, guest stars as Henry's hard-nosed labor leader father, in from the great steel town of Pittsburgh.

I hope you will join me next Sunday for more live recapping. I would really like to get your feedback live, as the show is airing in the comments section below, so we can discuss the episode. As always, you can tweet me at @leftofstr8. Have a great week.

9:58pm: The mystery of Nadine's missing pen is solved! Looks like I was wrong and Nadine is moving on from her relationship with the dead Secretary and has decided to embrace the Nasa administrator she met back in episode 9 that was hitting on her. The pen was a gift from him, (played by the fun actor, John Pankow, best remembered from MAD ABOUT YOU), and it had been up in space and given to Nadine on their first date. Oh well, he says he has 50 of them, they seem to write a lot up in space, lol. The Secretary is glad she got to pay her respects, and even though not in an official capacity, she was able to get things moving again by the Bahraini's in helping the US again, thanks to her heartfelt chat with the King. To top it all off, I got the truce I was looking for and Stephanie apologized to her mom and is moving back home. I love a happy ending.

9:48pm: In pure MADAM SECRETARY grace, she does what is right, as always, going to the funeral on her own, as "Lizzie," and not on behalf of the United States, to be there for her friend and his family. Of course her status does let her meet with Yousef's dad, the King of Bahrain, and you can feel the sadness between them. Grandpa Skerritt is not accepting being called out gracefully, and despite Henry's attempt to make sure he knows he still has the respect of his father, grandpa decides to return to Pittsburgh.

9:40pm: Things just got real! Stephanie confronted grandpa as a liar, who hasn't been on the Board of his labor party for 5 years and does not have the pull to get Stephanie a job, let alone create policy for the workers. This does look like it's going to get Stephanie back into seeing her mothers good qualities again, which I am glad, because their family dynamic is too strong to fight for long. The dinner actually turns Prince Yousef around and as he gets back to Bahrain, he decides to prosecute the Diplomat who held his maid hostage, and he gets shot and killed by a competing factor to the throne. Besides being heartbroken, the Secretary now must find a way to deal with the loss and face the pressure of lowering the standing of her office by having to stand in the back of the room with the rest of the women, if she goes to the funeral.

9:30pm: Now this reminds me of dinner during the holidays around our house, lol. Poor Prince Yousef is getting it from all sides at the McCord's family dinner table, instigated by Henry's dad. This is also a perfect time to drop the bomb that Stephanie is going to the Union Hall to work for Labor, but plot twist, Stephanie goes to the Hall and finds out that grandpa isn't even registered......hmmmm.

9:22pm: Crown Prince Yousef is "Joey" and Secretary Elizabeth McCord is "Lizzie??" This is kinda fun! But not fun for long as the Bahraini's upped their game a bit and promoted the Diplomat instead of giving permission to prosecute, making them have FULL immunity and tying our Secretary's hand, so she must let them go. For now.............

9:16: Bahraini has sent their crown Prince to address the detainment of the diplomats, and while the staff is a bit worried that he is a spoiled brat that always gets what he wants, our Secretary sure doesn't seem worried. Looks like it's the case of the missing pen for Nadine. I am pretty sure that pen has to have something to do with her former lover...the late Secretary Marsh. Looks like Stevie is getting grandpa to find her a new job...that sounds like it could be trouble.

9:11pm: And the Bahraini Diplomats are on the run from the charge of keeping their maid locked up and kidnapped in their comfy home. Looks like MADAM SECRETARY isn't afraid of a little bad diplomacy publicity. This was actually a short intro, ten minutes, one of the things I love about this show is how they have 12-15 minute intro's that really draw you into the story. Anyone else agree on how they start out this show, and make you wanting for the next segment?

9:06pm; What's Nadine freaking out about?? And she is downing her first beer, gotta love this Secretary!. Tom Skerritt has entered the building and he is a union rep and a tried and true Labor man. Of course he is not above asking the daughter-in-law for help for his causes as needed......much to Henry's chagrin.

9:04pm: Pittsburgh!! Was just here on Thursday. And Bourbon and Hagen Daaz is a great way to work your way into my heart!!

9:00pm: Welcome Stranger Friends, Here we go.... I am soooo looking forward to Tom Skerritt.

8:55pm: Live Updating Recap/Reviewing Starts in 5 Minutes
