Variety reports that MAD MEN's Kevin Rahm is swapping 'careers' and will play a news channel editor in the indie thriller NIGHTCRAWLER, alongside Jake Gyllenhaal. Directed by Dan Gilroy, the film also stars Bill Paxton and Rene Russo.

NIGHTCRAWLER follows "a driven young man (Gyllenhaal) who discovers the nocturnal world of L.A. freelance crime journalism."
Gilroy is also producing the dark indie flick alongside Gyllenhaal. The film marks Gilroy's directorial debut. He reviously co-wrote The Bourne Legacy with his brother, Tony Gilroy.
Rahm will appear in the upcoming season of MAD MEN as 'Ted Chaough'. His other TV credits include I Hate My Teenage Daughter, Desperate Housewives and Judging Amy.
