Jon Hamm is set to undergo throat surgery next week. The actor, 42, who is best known for his work as Don Draper on the hit AMC drama "Mad Men," will head to Boston for the procedure.
According to Life & Style, the surgery will be done to remove a polyp, which is a soft, benign (noncancerous) growth, similar to a blister. The magazine added that Hamm's "Mad Men" costar, January Jones, was discussing the matter at an Emmy party.
Hamm's rep, Erica Gray, confirmed the report to USA TODAY stating that Hamm is "having a single polyp removed." She adds that it's "routine outpatient procedure."
