Contactmusic.com writes that Jon Hamm, best known for his role as 'Don Draper' in MAD MEN, rejected an offer to play 'Hal Jordan' a.k.a. 'The Green Lantern' in 2011's superhero film. That honor eventually went to Ryan Reynolds.

"They came after me pretty hard," Hamm said, "But I was like, 'Meh, that's not what I want to do'...these aren't the kind of movies I like to go and see. They don't make the kind of movies I like to see anymore."

Not only is Hamm not interested in the superhero genre, he also declined to star in films from Mad Men creator Matthew Weiner, as well as projects featuring Mad Men co-star Elizabeth Moss. The actor is trying to distance himself from the cult AMC drama.

Hamm is lending his voice to the upcoming Despicable Me follow-up The Minions. Aside from Mad Men, he recently starred on the small screen in A Young Doctor's Notebook and Childrens Hospital. The actor last appeared on the big screen in Million Dollar Arm.

Hamm seems determined to stick to his guns -- what film or TV series do you think he will appear in next?
