NBC has promoted Lyric Ross to a series regular for the upcoming third season of THIS IS US, according to Variety.
Ross played Deja on season two of the series, the Pearson's newest addition from the foster care system. This comes not long after Melanie Liburd, who plays Beth's cousin Zoe, was also promoted to a season regular after appearing in the Season 2 finale.
Ross' previous TV credits include fellow CHICAGO FIRE and SIRENS on USA. She can be seen next in the film CANAL STREET.
"This Is Us" chronicles the Pearson family across the decades: from Jack (Milo Ventimiglia) and Rebecca (Mandy Moore) as young parents in the 1980s to their 37-year-old kids Kevin (Justin Hartley), Kate (Chrissy Metz) and Randall (Sterling K. Brown) searching for love and fulfillment in the present day. This grounded, life-affirming dramedy reveals how the tiniest events in our lives impact who we become, and how the connections we share with each other can transcend time, distance and even death.
Chrissy Metz, Justin Hartley, Chris Sullivan, Susan Kelechi Watson and Ron Cephas Jones also star.
Dan Fogelman, Isaac Aptaker, Elizabeth Berger, John Requa, Glenn Ficarra, Ken Olin, Charlie Gogolak and Jess Rosenthal executive produce. "This Is Us" is produced by 20th Century FOX Television.
Season 3 of THIS IS US returns to NBC on Tuesday, Sept. 25 at 9 p.m. E.T.
