According to Variety, Trigger Street Productions, a Production Company formed by Kevin Spacey & Dana Brunetti, have finalized a deal with HBO for Rod Lurie's new drama series "The Crux," which will star Spacey.
"The Crux" will be about the life of a multibillion dollar cult leader, played by Spacey, living in Los Angeles. Lurie's producing partner, Marc Frydman, created the idea for the show, and is currently in the process of co-writing a script with Lurie, who will also direct the pilot. Lurie, Frydman, Spacey, Brunetti, and Scott Lambert, the former WMA agent who once represented both Lurie & Spacey, will all serve as executive producers for the new project.
This show will be the first of many after HBO's deal with Trigger Street Productions.
Kevin Spacey gained critical acclaim in the early 1990s, culminating in his first Oscar for The Usual Suspects (Supporting), followed by a Best Actor Oscar win for American Beauty (1999). He has starred in many other Hollywood films including Se7en, L.A. Confidential, Pay It Forward, and Superman Returns. Since 2003, he has been artistic director of The Old Vic Theatre in London.
