I AM VICTOR has found its leading lady.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Chilean Lorenza Izzo (Netflix's HEMLOCK GROVE) has signed on to star opposite John Stamos in NBC's upcoming legal drama.

Based upon the hit novel by Jo Nesbo, the project follows divorce attorney Victor Port (Stamos), who is described as 'HOUSE as a divorce attorney,' with an off-kilter view of relationships and marriage.

Izzo will take on the role of 'Lena Engles,' a recent Harvard law grad who spent time as a clerk for the Supreme Court. "She is sharp and observant, but playful and sarcastic. Though she defends criminals, she holds to a strong moral compass, and is a romantic about love and relationships," according to the report.

Katie Jacobs (House M.D.) is set to executive produce the project written by Mark Goffman. Meghan Lyvers, Daniel Rappaport and Nesbo will also executive-produce.

Izzo, a newcomer to the business, will next appear in Eli Roth's upcoming film GREEN INFERNO and AFTERSHOCK.

Stamos has enjoyed tremendous success on Broadway, most recently starring in the revival of Gore Vidal's 'The Best Man.' The actor appeared in the award-winning 'Nine' and the Broadway revival of 'Bye Bye Birdie.' His Broadway debut came in 1997's "How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying" and, in 2000, he starred as the Emcee in "Caberet," which was very well received.

His recent film credits include the independent films I Am Stamos and Knots. Through his St. Amos banner, Stamos has many television projects in the works, including the TV Movie "Dillinger" for TNT, and co-producing a feature film version of the TV Classic "The Jeffersons" for Sony. Additional producing credits include an Emmy nomination in 2000 for co-producing the ABC miniseries "Beach Boys: An American Family" and the highly rated CBS telefilm "Martin & Lewis."

Not limiting himself to behind-the-camera work, he recently appeared in the ABC comedy "Jake in Progress." In 2001, he starred in the ABC romantic comedy "Thieves" about a pair of master thieves who become covert government agents.
