Deadline reports that Brian Teta, a long time Supervising Producer for CBS's LATE SHOW WITH DAVID LETTERMAN has been named co-executive producer for the 19th season of ABC's THE VIEW. Teta will replace exiting producer Brian Balthazar on the daytime talker.
ABC announced the news in a memo to staff:
We are excited to welcome Brian Teta to THE VIEW as Co-Executive Producer.Brian joins us after 11 years at Late Show with David Letterman, where he was Supervising Producer. He worked on virtually every element of the show (their final season was just nominated for an Emmy). He produced celebrity guests, cooking segments, variety acts and outdoor stunts, and he booked political guests and sports stars after events ranging from the SUPER BOWL to the Olympics.
Brian also has extensive daytime TV experience, having spent several years producing for Ricki Lake, The Montel Williams Show and Judge Hatchett.
"The View," recipient of the 2003 Daytime Emmy® Award for "Outstanding Talk Show," is ABC Daytime's morning chatfest, featuring a team of dynamic women of different ages, experiences and backgrounds discussing the most exciting events of the day. The program has received critical acclaim since premiering August 11, 1997. It's broadcast live weekdays from New York City (11:00 a.m.-12:00 noon, ET; CLOSED-CAPTIONED; broadcast in stereo; TV-14).
