Texas Football's 2017 Orange & White Spring Game will air Saturday, April 15, at 1 p.m. CT on Longhorn Network, ESPN's 24-hour University of Texas network. A special edition of LHN's Texas Football ALL ACCESS will debut the night before, on Friday, April 14, at 7 p.m. CT. The show features exclusive access throughout UT's spring practice, resulting in an incredible behind-the-scenes look at Texas Head Coach Tom Herman and his new staff as they begin their rebuild of the program. Herman and his coaches were mic'ed up for many of the 14 practices leading up to the spring game. The show also takes viewers inside the film and team meeting rooms.
LHN coverage of the spring scrimmage begins at noon CT from the field at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium with Texas GameDay, hosted by LHN's Alex Loeb. He will be joined by LHN analysts and Lifetime Longhorns Vince Young and Emmanuel Acho, as well as Cory Redding, former Texas All-Big 12 defensive tackle and a veteran of five NFL teams during his 13-year professional career. Texas GameDay Final airs for an hour, immediately following the scrimmage.
For the Orange & White Spring Game action, ESPN analyst and Lifetime Longhorn Ahmad Brooks will call the game, with LHN's Lowell Galindo providing play-by-play. Young and Acho will contribute from the field throughout the game. Kris Budden will report from the sidelines.
The Longhorns quarterback competition continues again this season with Shane Buechele, a rising sophomore, competing with early arrival Sam Ehlinger for the starting quarterback position. Herman has announced that a final selection of starting quarterback will not be made until just prior to the Longhorns season opener against the University of Maryland on Saturday, Sept. 2.
For those attending Texas' Fan Fest on April 15, join LHN inside Gate 25 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. to have a photo taken for real-time inclusion in a super-sized (18'x6') THIS IS TEXAS interactive photo mosaic mural. Fans watching the game on LHN can participate by taking a photo in their Longhorn gear and sharing it on Twitter or Instagram using #ThisIsTexas.
