Starting today, cloud-based live TV service PlayStation™Vue adds even more value to its lineup of sports and entertainment programming with the launch of Longhorn Network in Texas and Oklahoma. The University of Texas sports channel will be available through Playstation Vue's Core multi-channel plan starting at $34.99 in select cities.
"ESPN is committed to
Longhorn Network and serving Texas sports fans wherever they consume content," said Stacie McCollum,
ESPN senior director,
Longhorn Network Programming & Acquisitions. "The network's launch on
Playstation Vue further expands LHN's availability to fans within Texas and Oklahoma. It is a prime example of consistent distribution growth year over year for the network since launching in 2011."
"The University of Texas is delighted that the
Longhorn Network is making this launch," said Mike Perrin, University of Texas Men's Athletic Director. "We have a great relationship with the network, and additional distribution of content remains a hallmark of success."
Longhorn Network joins the previously announced channels from Disney and
ESPN Media Networks, which were added last month to the pioneering live TV service from Sony Interactive Entertainment. The launch also follows
Playstation Vue's nationwide expansion. Users will be able to watch
Longhorn Network content using
Playstation Vue's intuitive interface and unique features such as simultaneous streaming and unmatched cloud DVR.
Subscribers also have access to apps from Disney and
ESPN Media Networks simply by logging in with their PlayStation™Network email address and password. Popular apps such as WatchESPN and WATCH
ABC are available for use with their
Playstation Vue subscription at no additional cost. Access to
Longhorn Network on WatchESPN will launch at a later date.
The following channels will be coming soon to
Playstation Vue: ESPN3,
ESPN Goal Line,
ESPN Buzzer Beater,
ESPN Bases Loaded,
ESPN DEPORTES and
ESPN Classic.
PlayStation Vue is accessible through PlayStation®4, PlayStation®3, Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick, as well as iPad® and iPhone® through the
Playstation Vue mobile app. Google Chromecast is also supported via compatible iOS devices.
