In "Switched at Birth", Katie plays Daphne Vasquez, a deaf teenager who finds out at age 16 that she was switched at birth. Katie's TV credits include "CSI," "The Big Bang Theory" and "The Confession." Leclerc has Ménière's disease, a disorder of the inner ear that can affect hearing and balance to a varying degree. It is characterized by episodes of vertigo and tinnitus and degenerative hearing loss. Leclerc is fluent in American Sign Language.
