Live Action DORA THE EXPLORER To Release Summer 2019

According to Variety, the previously announced live action DORA THE EXPLORER film has officially set a release date. Paramount Pictures has announced that the movie will swing into theaters Aug. 2, 2019. The film has been in the works for a few years now, and it being produced by Michael Bay, Andrew Form and Brad Fuller. The three make up Platinum Dunes production company. Michael Bay is a producer and writer, who is most known for his work on the TRANSFORMERS franchise, 13 HOURS, and PEARL HARBOR. Platinum Dunes has worked on films such as THE PURGE series, TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES, OUIJA, and THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE.

"Dora the Explorer" airs at 10:30 a.m. and noon (ET/PT) weekdays on Nick Jr., a specially designed programming block airing on Nickelodeon weekdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. (ET/PT). Completely dedicated to preschoolers ages 2-5, Nick Jr.'s Emmy, Peabody and Parents' Choice Award-winning programs are curriculum based, fun and commercial free.
